Why the goal of $20,000?

Let’s take one example . . .
Birth certificate = $500

This is a case where they are not so different from us – without a birth certificate they cannot get child support, government services, college financial aid, social security, own property – all those things that legal citizens can do.

<
Lic. Victoria Nieto, one of several lawyers who have helped COAR’s children through the years. The book she is holding is a manual for lawyers explaining El Salvador’s laws regarding children:

“Convention on the Rights of the Child.”

Many COAR children were born at home and have no birth certificate. They obviously have guardian and custody issues. Their families have the burdens of the poor and poorly educated in keeping their land, house, and any assets intact.

<
And sadly, sometimes we need to confront abusers in the courts.

COAR helps with all of that. Thanks for your help in protecting Children's Rights.
