Cafeteria Opens - March 15
2002 Benefit dollars at work - Thanks!!
The eagerly anticipated COAR cafeteria opened March 15.
It serves hot meals and a variety of hot and cold snacks from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. Students, employees, Zaragoza town folks, and unexpected visitors can obtain nutritious, convenient, food at reasonable prices.
The cafeteria also supports the economy of the area by employing several workers and strengthening the local supply chain. A special goal of Sr. Mary Pat Driscoll, COAR's director and a nurse by training, is that all workers be trained in sanitary food preparation methods.
The last bit of the 2002 Benefit money was used to buy furniture for the cafeteria only last week. Rather than show pictures of the concrete slab and roof - as exciting as that is - pictures with seated, well-fed faces will be in the next issue.
Thanks to all who supported this project. It is another example of the slow, steady, humble, yet, important difference that COAR, and you, through your generosity, make in the lives of the children.
