2004 Annual Benefit
New Classroom Construction: $11,000 Raised
Thanks to all who supported COAR’s Annual Benefit project: construction of a new classroom. New classrooms are part of more ambitious plans to accommodate COAR’s growing enrollment and role in the community of Zaragoza. Construction blue-prints for the new classroom building are still being finalized, as the Children’s Village weighs the needs to relocate the learning center, expand the audio-visual department, expand the library (again!), and settle on the number of new classrooms needed. However, a site has been chosen and is being prepared for the new building.
Many thanks to . . .
^ Volunteers from Villa Angela / St. Joseph High School joined the staff to help sell crafts and raffle tickets at the luncheon at The Cleveland Playhouse Club.

Promised pictures of the new cafeteria. Left is a celebration of Secretary’s Day. Right is typical busy and festive lunch hour for teachers, staff, and students.

Mariela is six years old. She came to COAR extremely malnourished this year, but is doing quite well after treatment.
