Our Voice

- Nelson Angel, 10th Grade

Among a people stained with blood,
Has emerged a voice of courage,
In order to help those who suffer from hunger
In order to struggle on behalf of those who suffer pain.

With your words of bravery,
With your words of love,
The silence has been broken
Of such great pain.

You proclaimed the truth
As a real prophet
From all that evil
Of which your people were subject to.

The day that they killed you
That day that they took away our voice,
The voice of our people
The voice of those without voice.

I give you thanks, Monsenor Romero
For having spoken for your people without fear,
For being a path in our lives
Of justice, hope and love.

I believe in you - Karla Nofio, 5th grade

Monsenor, you were like a seed
You grew and turned into a tree
You gave a very good fruit
The fruit of peace.

The rich tried to kill you, the poor to care for you
In our heart you live, in our heart you will always live
And we will trust in you that you will always care for us.

Thanks to you we understood the meaning of the word
Love and now we live in peace since
We learned from a man who knew how to struggle for happiness.

I believe in you because youo gave us life.
I believe in you because you struggled for peace
I believe in you because you are in heaven
And I know that from there you are are going to hear me.
